Hi folks!
It's time for you to tell me what music you're into. Post a comment with your favorite band or artist and if possible, some information or a link to uploaded files. If you're looking for a special album, let me know and maybe I'll do something about it!

HI!THE FIRST 'UTOPIAN FIELDS' LP THERE ARE IN LOST-IN-TYME.BLOGSPOT
Hi, wonderful and really nice blog. I´m looking for and acid folk record "Caedmon" (1978), by a band with the same name. Any chance?
Hi everybody! Thanks for all your comments, I'll see what I can do.
Been looking for a nice clean-sounding transfer of "Hippy Elevator Operator" by The W.C. Fields Memorial Electric String Band for some time. The only place that song's ever been comped is one of the Boulders LPs--and it sounds like it came off a sixth generation tape of a copy of the 45 found in the middle of a street somewhere!
got a beut of a blog here mate--
i know its a bit off yor track but i am looking for a rip of the vinyl only eponymous blaze foley album. it was the only record released during his liftime. dying to hear it. cheers--
Well, I'm late catching onto to this post (but that's nothing new to me) however This is truly a fantastic blog man. A big congratulations on the wealth of stuff you bring to light!
I'm into Motorhead, and Hawkwind of course
An obscure album you should feature, if you haven't already thought of it, is by Bloodrock - Bloodrock USA, Gatefold LP (1971 - I think), it has the most amazing cover-art
Would you happen to have the promo single by Ronno - 4th Hour of My Sleep/Powers of Darkness?
Hello,
Well, I discover your beautiful blog and I'm very surprised by the high quality of it, especially your attention to post the entire covers of some albums : that give some value to these.
Well too, after the post comments, I ask you my own requests. So, have you the possibility to post these (WITH THEIR COVERS, please) :
1/ Touchstone - "Tarot" (1972),
2/ Music Asylum - "Commit Thyself" (1970),
3/ Wild Butter - Same (1970),
4/ Jery Corbitt - "Corbitt" (1969.
If yes, I thank you very much.
All my best from Brittany and long life to you.
Thierry (France)
Thanks for all your great tips. Some are really hard to find but I'll see what I can do.
Cheers

As a big fan of your blog (I've discovered countless fantastic albums here), I wanted to give something back in the form of my own old (late '90's, early naughts) band Rocket Park's two albums.
I'd describe the music as "eclectic pop rock with frequent progressive rock leanings (of a melodic/symphonic/compositional nature moreso than virtuosity)". The guitarist wants to be Jimmy Page, the drummer wants to be Keith Moon, and the keyboardist (moi) utilizes an arsenal of vintage keyboard sounds rivalling Rick Wakeman's stage setup circa 1973. The songs, production and harmonies may remind one of Electric Light Orchestra, and Mellotron junkies (of which I am one) are advised that the second album ("Television") features the string and flute sounds we love so.
Pleased listeners interested in owning physical objects and/or rewarding our efforts can buy either album at CDBaby.com, but if you don't, that's fine as well. We're much more interested in having a discerning audience listen to and, hopefully, enjoy our music.

Not a request, just a huge thank you! This blog has to be my find of the year!
First off...Great page!! Nice work.
Second...looking for something by "We All Together" pop-psych band from Peru. Seems pretty hard to find, but thought I'd mention it just in case.
Keep up the good work!
Hello G.C.
I found this blog with "We All Together"
Bandas Tornantes
Check it out
Peace
Damn! You are on the ball Mad Hatter. I've been trying to track We All Together down for quite some time. Endless thanks for having a look for me.
Nice post too--Bread, Love, and Dreams...some seriously beautiful / haunting melodies.
Don't suppose you could track down the sole album by "The Paper Garden". I read it sounds similar in ways to the Zombies--and if that's true I'm all about it.
Thanks again! I'm glad I found your page...I now have something to check when I get into work.
All the best
G. C. Rank!
Great way to start the day ;)
I've got the Paper Garden album from 1968 and it's smashing! I'll put it on my to-blog-about-list.
cheers
Once again Mad Hatter...can't thank you enough. Mum always said, "all you need to do is ask, that can't hurt anything". Never been more true.
I really appreciate you taking your time to have a look for me...again.
Not exactly sure what a "to-blog-about-list" is, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Paper Garden.
All the best Mad Hatter
pizza --
Nevermind...I get it.
Dear Mad Hatter,
Thanks once again for one of the best blogs out there- your selections are terrific.
I do want to request a few things: I'm still hoping that you will re-post the Kraftwerk 'Exceller 8' LP, as it is nowhere to be found in the blogiverse. I love the idea of creating a 'sampler' album in which songs flow in & out of one another (I'll bet Kraftwerk hated that!). That's wish #1.
The new request (wish #2) is for the 2nd LP (also on CD) by Third Ear Band from 1970- it came out after 'Alchemy' and before their self-titled LP, called 'Abelard And Heloise'. This is the blurb from 'Rate Your Music':
'After their first two albums, Third Ear Band become even more experimental on this soundtrack to the film 'Abelard And Heloise', based on a famous medieval love story.
The record lacks the (relatively) straightforward, danceable folk-jazz of their self-titled release. The six tracks are untitled and vary much more in mood than do the four tracks of their self-titled release. On the whole, there is more emphasis on the melodic oboe and strings, especially in the first part of the album, than can be found on Third Ear Band.
Some of the later "tracks" do come relatively close to the mood of their earlier work, but in the main "Abelard and Heloise" is entirely unclassifiable into any genre, and is much harder to comapre with later artists than Third Ear Band's first two releases. Yet, its passion and beauty - so distinct from "world" or "new age" music - cannot be denied.'
Sounds great, doesn't it? Again, nowhere to be found among the blogs.
Thanks again for everything!
Hey, a lot of your d/l links are cut off by the blogger comment box. (ex. Anne Briggs and Faust). Is there anything that can be done about this?
About links are cut off. Just copy and paste the link into your browser, be shure that you get the whole url. From now on I'll create clickable links. Hope you get it right!
Peace out
Hi Steve!
Thanks for the kind words and your request. First, about the Exceller album, I'm woking on it. I only have it on vinyl so I'll have to rip it and I've been busy, you know! Yeah Third Ear Band, great stuff. I'll see what I can do.
Cheers
Dear Hatter,
Thanks for considering my wishes. I feel as if I'm writing to a genie!
All the best to you-

Mellow Candle is my favorite at the moment. Also Norwegian Folque and Kong Lavring.
More music that is similar to Mellow Candle's (very distinct bass, piano melodies) would be appreciated!
Fantastic site but it's getting very expensive, I buy cd's after listening to the download. Can't beat owning the original and my car stacker will only take originals (CDR's jam). One album I remember from years ago is Touch, would like to listen to it again before committing my money. Anyone got a copy?
Thanks, Rob
Great BLOG. Great taste. Looking for the first 4 Jandek lp's.

Hi,
Do you have Marc Brierley's 'Autograph of Time'? I can't find it anywhere! I know you have Hello and Citadel but I'm interested in hearing his complete works. Thanks
Pepe
Hi Pepe,
I don't publish compilations or new albums. Only original LP's from back in the days. So If you want 'Autograph of Time' I recommend that you buy it on cd and suport the artist. But maybe I'll post Marc's first EP.
Cheers

I'd love a repost of Fire's "The Magic Shoemaker" lp and also John William's "The Maureeny Wishfull" lp featuring Jimmy Page on guitar and sitar!
Hows about Michael Chapman - Window? Might not be psych but its on Harvest and got lots of truly wonderful playing and one of the best rhythm-section sounds of the period.
Thanks for a wonderful site - and gatefold sleeves!
Yo have you heard of Mort Garson's 12 zodiac signs. Not the 1 LP, he made an album for each zodiac sign, 12 LP's. Also would be cool to see the group 1850's LP
I love your blog. Thanks for introducing me to a lot of great bands. I'm looking for The Open Mind's 1969 s/t debut album. I would greatly appreciate it if it was posted on here. Keep up the good work!
Hi Gerard!
Yes I've heard about Michael Chapman but I don't have the Window album. Love to hear it. I'll see if I can find it.
You can't beat a good old gatefold LP.
Cheers
Just wondering if you had either of the P.C. Kent albums one of which I think came out on RCA. To the best of my knowledge neither has been reissued.
Iam requesting the three lp's by The Yachts. The Yachts,Yachts Without Radar and S.O.S. - The Singles 1977-1981. The first lp was released to cd for a brief period and was only released to cd in Japan. That cd is now out of print.
Hi Mad Hatter,

Hello!
I wanted to write and tell you about a new website for artists, musicians, fashion designers, and filmmakers: www.PutItOn.com. I've been using the site as an artist and have my work there, and am trying to support it because I believe in it. Basically, the site allows artists from all over the world to connect, display their portfolios, and sell their work (with NO commission taken!). The site gives artists a FREE gigabyte of space to showcase their portfolios, allows you to stream audio and video works, lets you create live personal broadcasts, and translates any writing into ten different languages. If you could take the time to visit the site, and if you like it too, let your readers know about it, and even sign up yourself or link to it on your site it would be greatly appreciated! We are trying to make a go of helping out artists everywhere and are trying to get the word out, so please help us out if you like the site after checking it out! Thank you!
All the best,
Sarah at PutItOn.com
Life altering job of posting sublime music that has had quite a major impact to me. I owe a debt of gratitude to you, Mad Hatter.
Not sure if it was once posted here, but I would like to suggest Bill Fay, his work is recently available again.
His 1st album "Bill Fay" was once reviewed as "Sgt. Pepper on Downers".
His 3rd and final album was also reviewed as "being a cross between Dark Side Of The Moon and Alan Parsons Project".
Bill Fay's voice is erriely evocative of Roger Waters & Syd Barrett trying to sing Bob Dylan.
The track "The Sun Is Bored" is phenomenal, like if Roger Waters had joined The Moody Blues during the DOFP 1967.
While Bill's only single "Some Good Advice" brings on Mellotron Flutes and Barrett-like lyrics of riding bikes, building sheds and greasing wheels.
Also any other albums or artistes making heavy use of Mellotron is also appreciated.
Hi Dennis!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I also love Bill Fay, a fantastic and quite forgotten genius. I love the "Time of the Last Persecution"-album. Great stuff. I will be posting Bill fay in the future.
All the best
Hiya. I would like u to post up the two 'Gracious' albums. Greatly entertaining cut and paste prog rock, also featured on Andy Votel's brilliant 'Vertigo mixed' crazy Vertigo prog medley mix album.
I think people shud get to know this obscure and fun band. "Walking in the dark, to a very quiet table with a glaaaassss" brill!
Luv your site it rocks! Xx
Hello Mad Hatter! First of all, thank you enormously for all of these beautiful albums. They are just priceless, and it's awesome that some people in this fucked up world can still listen to some good music.
Now, if it isn't too much to ask, could you please upload if you have any, some Barclay James Harvest album?
It would be great. Thanks again for all of this music.

Great website! Fabulous music I hadn't seen or heard for a long time. Thanks so much.
Been looking for the first Heads Hands & Feet (double album), along with Tyla Gang stuff and Walkabouts tour official "bootlegs". Wondering if you have any such goodies. Thanks.
Fantastic blog- it has filled in quite a few gaps in my library, especially with regard to late '60's psychedelia.
Any chance you are able to upload "The United States of America"? It is arguably one of the definitive albums of the genre.
dear Jerome, here is the site link you can download United States of America:

This may easily be the best blog on the Internet. It's totally awesome. Just a suggestion: Amon Düül II. They are the pioneers of Krautrock and they sound awesome. Haven't heard them in a while, but they were really cool.
I forgot, I have Amon Duul II's first album, so if you want it just ask me for it. My email address is matthewu2@gmail.com
Thanks again.
Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle
Fantastic blog !!
I'd recommend "Gnidrolog" - Their album from 1972, "Lady Lake" has one of the best examples of cover art ever.
Bo Hansson - "Lord Of The Rings" 1972
Amon Duul II - "Yeti" 1970
I have the above on vinyl and CD.
Hi mpuddleduck
Thanks for all your nice comments and your request. Yes, Gnidrolog Lady Lake has a great cover. Maybe I'll post it.
Cheers
Hi Mateo!
Thanks for your comments! I have Amon Duul II's first albums too. Great and arty stuff.
Cheers
saw someone (looks like the band) recommended Strangers Family Band. Here is a review of them I saw recently, really think you ought to cover them.
E.P. Reviewed on Trip Inside this House by Valis
If the Doors & Kennelmus had a baby, the Strangers Family Band is their love child!
At seven tracks this EP never wears out welcome, nor-just like a good Stranger, overstays. From the mood-setting/changing opener "Enochian", (well, it would be an opener wouldn't it?), we know we're entering another world. Sound creating a travel ticket. Perfectly segueing into "Girl I've Been Taken," from all sides of the spectrum-in my Sennheisers, this reminds me substantially of those 70s desert-dwelling, peyote-munching psychsters Kennelmus. That's a compliment where I come from.Stylistically, this track also seems to lean more on the early 70s period of psychedelic music.
Track 3, "Wooden Hands", further bids you to come into their funhouse mirror world o' weird. A Music Hall romp with horn-backed chorus.
Track 4, "No One Sees Her", maintains the vibe of the prior tack, set up nicely by a small-stringed instrument-ukelele? Mandolin? and shuffles along right past the tilt-o-whirl, a la The Seeds "Nobody Spoil My Fun."
"Strange Transmission" should be familiar to regular readers of this blog for its inclusion on this year's Summer Solstice, Volume II compilation. Opening with SITAR (!), this is pure Doorsian wobble, a long-lost companion and heir to "The End." At seven minutes it's also in the right proportion, too.
"Tangerine", to these ears wouldn't sound outta' place-at all, on the Brian Jonestown Massacre's albums, say circa Methodrone. Complete with Anton-like affected Engle-accented vocals.
The EP ends with "Beware The Autumn People", a trip into an alterniverse where the only song anyone's ever heard is "Soul Kitchen"! Yet these guys manage to somehow break the stranglehold. A slow-burning center to propel it and a swagger which demands attention from your third eye.
I'll stand by my assertion, made earlier, these guys are a product of a Doors-Kennelmus tryst, made one night out near the old prison town of Yuma, a bag of peyote being passed around, and after enough digestion the guitars and percussion come out as a crescent moon slowly rises overhead...those sounds? They entered the Noosphere and were caught in transmission many moons later by a group of guys trying. Trying. As long as they're doing so I'll keep buying the string of tickets from the barker...
Thanks Scott & Co.! Listen and tell 'em "-valis sent me!"
http://strangersfamilyband.bandcamp.com
Great stuff here. How about Alice Through The Looking Glass?

Hey mad hatter,
I really appreciate your blog. I wanted to suggest a album:
The Common People -
Of the People, By the People, For the People

KJKJ74
Hey, thanks for the link! Hope you enjoy it.. I sure will.. Finally I can listen to it on my Ipod.
very good blog,im looking for FRUMMOX,JASPER WRATH;WESTFAUSTER
After perusing for a while, I know I'm going to spend a lot of time at this blog.
My request though, if possible, is something more in the vein of pop/rock of the early 70's. It's a band called Manna. The band was something more like Bread, but with a harder edge to themselves.
The cover was dark tan and the letters for Manna looked similar to Jewish script. I can't remember much more about it other than it had songs on it like "We Can Make It If We Try" and "Red Man".
I had this album many years ago, but never saw another copy of it again other than my own, and I lost mine, tragically. It might have bee on the Columbia label, but I'm not sure.
I've looked all over the internet for years and haven't found one mention.
Now, is that a challenge or what?
Michael in SD<><
hi. i 'm for the cressida albums. can you help? thanks for the great job.
Hi Daan!
You can find The Common People here!
cheers
Cressida, check this out!
Cressida - Cressida (1970)
Cressida - Asylum
Peace
Hi Michael in SD!
I love a challenge! I have tracked the Manna album down. Here it is
Manna - Manna 1972
Thanks to a ZenBa in Bosnia!!
Peace out
You asked... so here goes!
Jerry Riopelle - [1] Saving Grace / [2] Take A Chance
Michael Perlitch - Keyboard Tales
Siren - Stange Locomotion (US release) (it includes the cut "Lillian" not on the UK version)
Jimmy Webb - Words and Music
Vance -Or- Towers US/A&M Records - Vance -or- Towers
thanks for all the other goodies!
Jerry Riopelle's 'Take A Chance', it will probably have to be a vinyl rip, but I would really like a copy on MP3 to play. Still have the original vinyl on ABC, but I am afraid it crackles somewhat after continuous playing. So if you know where there is a copy I will be eternally grateful.

Evie sands!!!!!!!!! please!
thanks for your work.
I´m from Argentina, and i wanted to recommend you some music that otherwise it´d be difficult for you to meet.
from 1973 this is accreditted to the band Pescado Rabioso, but actually it is a work by the singer and composser "Luis Alberto Spinetta". the album is called "Artaud"
If you like it, tell my and i´ll send you more folk music from here, from the 70´s. (which is very interesting also because of its historical context, related to dictatorship times)

Can you upload the MONO mix of the Hollies Evolution?
Well, your blog has opened up some new music to my ears. A sincere "Thank You." I recall a few Krautrock albums I once had several hundred years ago.... do you have anything by Triumvirat or Novalis?

Hey!!!! I love your blog!! I was wondering if you might reccomend anything that sounds like the band Mushroom(Devil among the tailors)? I love that proggy-irish-folk sound of the early seventies!! I also just discovered SPIROGYRA!! Any reccomendations will be met with much enthusiasm!!! Many Glories!! Richard Avena
The blog is amazing! I have an online shop that's selling a print of the cover of NMH's Aeroplane album, and I was wondering if maybe you'd want to pass the info on to fellow music lovers? I'll be making more prints soon, but I'm starting with my all-time favorite record.
If you're interested, just contact me on my blog, and I'd love to plug your site on mine in return!

I'm a fan of Peppermint Store. Your reviews are well-written and informative, I appreciate the great work you're doing!
I wanted to share with you my project, Bowl of Dust & Co. Based in Chicago, I've been working on the band for 2 years with a rotating cast of members.
In January 2012, we released an EP entitled "Sour Mash" which featured the full band recorded live to 4 track tape in a reverberant room. You can hear that at http://bowlofdust.bandcamp.com
I'm working on a follow up solo EP called Erdgeist for an upcoming tour, and have a few tracks up on SoundCloud at http://soundcloud.com/bowlofdust
I'm sure you get tons of emails from bands wanting to share their tunes, and have a lot of them to go through. Please give Bowl of Dust & Co. a listen. I'd appreciate any feedback, since your keen ear is what drives Peppermint Store!
Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions.
